Title: The Lion's Devotion (The Lamb's Downfall)
Author: UnfortunatelyObsessed
Canon: What We Do in the Shadows
Pairing: Guillermo de la Cruz/Nandor
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 20,988
Summary: Guillermo pauses, eyes wide. He tries to say something. He can’t. “I killed a man because he made me angry. I have done this— many times.” “That’s— that’s a mortal sin, you—“ “I do not wish to be absolved. I want to know why. Why do I feel this… this ache where my soul should be?” Guillermo’s breath shakes as he exhales. The grate is thin, so thin that a determined man could crash through it and wrap hands around his neck, force the life out of him. “You feel guilt.” “Why now? Why at all? Why— fuck-ing hell.” The last bit comes out as a pained gasp, and Guillermo can see the man’s head duck, his shoulders hunch. “Can we do this outside? It hurts in here.”
Recommendation: I just couldn't say no to priest Guillermo (funnily enough neither can Nandor). I love that he meets the other vampires unrelatedly and the twist at the end is great.
