Summary: “That thing you told me about yesterday,” Touka says eventually. “I don’t want you thinking about that.” Now Kaneki, too, has to pause. He takes another order and prepares the drink before he answers her. “You can’t stop me from thinking,” he tells her quietly. – In which Kaneki is in love, Hide doesn’t know, and Touka tries not to be bitter.
Recommendation: The irony of Hide being more okay with Kaneki being a ghoul than with him having a crush on him is oh so painful. But this whole thing reminded me of a post that had the summary of a hypothetical story about a roommate who thought he was being homophobic about a gay roommate only to realize that they’re actually interested in them.
