Summary: In a universe where Poe was never captured and FN-2187 never defected, the Resistance has fought the First Order to a standstill, and the two sides agree to a peace treaty so they can retreat and lick their wounds. One of the terms of the treaty is that, to symbolize the new detente, a representative of each side shall wed the other…and of course the Generals can only ask their most loyal fighters to step forwards. Poe’s more than a little dubious about marrying a Stormtrooper, but for the sake of peace, he’ll do almost anything. And FN-2187 will do his duty.
Recommendation: While this marriage was not accidental, it wasn’t really planned for or even strictly voluntary. Or at least it wasn’t until these two got a proper look at each other and ended up just as dazzled by each other even without the rescue and defection.
