Title: Fortuna
Author: samedifference61
Canon: American Gods
Pairing: Shadow Moon/Mad Sweeney
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 7,809
Summary: Before House on the Rock, Shadow and Sweeney are sent to roundup a mysterious goddess in Las Vegas.

Recommendation: I love that this expands the world to include new gods and good old Lady Luck fits right in with canon. Half way through I was reminded of the opposing forces of being lucky at cards or lucky in love, and I thought well if Sweeney's lost his luck everywhere else maybe he'll get lucky in love.

Title: The Sheer Unholy Fucking Delight of It
Author: deathtosanepeople
Canon: American Gods
Pairing: Shadow Moon/Mad Sweeney
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 7,396
Summary: Wednesday, Shadow, and our resident unlucky leprechaun are finally traveling to Wisconsin. After a rough night of drinking, tormented by thoughts of his dead wife and the ones who put her in her grave, Shadow has to make an unscheduled pit stop to empty his guts on the side of the road. Sweeney follows and tries to give him some advice, and as usual, it falls through. This time however, Sweeney doesn’t mind, for Shadow wants something else from him— something Sweeney would much rather give.

Recommendation: I love that this seems to illustrate that Shadow is no mere mortal man, and that he has some regard for Sweeney.

Title: If You Can't Eat It, Drink It, Smoke It, or Snort It
Author: Largishcat
Canon: American Gods
Pairing: Shadow Moon/Mad Sweeney
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 4,266
Summary: (Then fuck it.) Mad Sweeney shows up to have a little chat with Shadow about throwing away gifts so carelessly.

Recommendation: Now Shadow's still all hung up on Laura (understandably) and usually I'd be leery because I've got issues with fidelity, but she's dead and broke faith first and the wild, desperate chemistry between Shadow and Sweeney is a hot thing like burning. The sequel, The Only Woman I Ever Loved Was Another Man's Wife, is good to if a little less violent between Shadow and Sweeney. I would put forward that Laura makes a better bro than she did a wife, as evidenced by the phone conversations.

Title: Despite the Snow, Despite the Falling Snow
Author: GlamAssKiddo
Canon: American Gods
Pairing: Shadow Moon/Mad Sweeney
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 2,565
Summary: Sweeney couldn't get his coin back. Shadow couldn't understand what was the problem with that.

Recommendation: I read the book years ago now and while I liked it I remember liking Anansi Boys better, but I was jazzed to discover it was being made into a show. I was not prepared to ship anyone because though I liked Shadow, I most certainly didn't like Laura. Damned leprechaun had to be so charismatic, with so much delicious tension between him and Shadow. Well here I go.
