If I was to be held down and forced to pick a single One True Pairing™ I would pick Bagginshield. Some of that is that I am a huge Tolkien nerd and I love Middle-earth, so the prospect of having that and a gay interspecies romance for the ages as portrayed by Richard Armitage and Martin Freeman is just too wonderful to deny. I love them so much, and I don’t even feel like I can really put “why” into words, so this is me basically just flailing at you about my love for this pairing.

. . .And making icons, because of course I made some icons for these two! :D

My dad is pretty much as far from a shipper as you can get--doesn't do fandom, doesn't particularly like fantasy or read fiction very often, read us The Hobbit less because he loves it and more because it's A Good Book For Your Kids--but he did see the movies, and after seeing the third one, was making comparisons between Thorin and Bilbo and the kind of relationship he hopes I'll have someday. (Which is...another can of worms, because I'm ace, but still, the fact that he noticed the ship explicitly as a relationship was hilarious. I thought telling him the ship name might have been pushing it, though.)

I love the pairing, too! There are some really wonderful, long long long (my fave!) fics for Bagginshield.

For most pairings, if I see a 100K fic I'm "oh well, that's nice" *backing away slowly usually* but if the fic is Bagginshield 100k+ even if its 11:30 pm and I've got work in the morning I'm "Oh well, I guess I'm not sleeping tonight and possibly tomorrow as well". And I love every minute of it. ;D

I read so fast that I am always looking for stuff of epic length. I hear you on the staying up too late, though! I have gotten so much better at just not starting a thing before bed so I'm not tempted. LOL

Aw, thank you. <3 I am rather fond of that one though it almost made itself. The source pic was even already square and required not cropping so I thought I should add something. I'd loved all the jokes about Thorin being Majestic, but I didn't want it to be a joke as the pose he was in was so quietly dignified. :)
